Our Rohini Darjeeling First Flush is one of the finest Darjeeling teas; Rohini estate is located in the Kurseong valley of Darjeeling, in India. With its rich, multi-layered taste, Rohini Darjeeling truly is a unique Darjeeling. Once brewed, you will taste a delicate bitterness that complements the lingering effect of the astringency. The tea is rich of aromatic almond and sweet vanilla notes, combined with floral fragrances; once steeped, the leaf infuses to a gleaming, golden-yellow liquor with a smooth and subtle mouthfeel. It has a light astringency and well balanced nuanced floral aroma.

I decided to test a bunch of tea from TeaLyra so I ordered a set and brewed them all the same. For our test, 1 full teaspoon of tea was used and all were steeped for 3 minutes in a 50mL teacup. To test how well the smell and taste held up, I also included a second brew during our test.

This is a medium strength darjeeling. The scent is not very strong, but it is pleasant. It is crisp and clean, but the taste is on the weak side. Flavourless on second brew. I have brewed this to drink separate from my test, I usually make it strong and even with stronger/longer steeping, this tea holds up quite well. It does not get bitter, the flavour holds up even when tepid. Still only works best for the first brew. One of the better teas from this lot.
